World Book Day Bookmark and Art Print
Inspired by my kids favourite books, Shifty McGifty and Slippery Sam, I created these fun bookmarks and art print…
I have two young sons, and one of our most favourite things to do together is to read before bed. Now, my kids are fortunate to have lots of books available to them. But the ones we keep coming back to are the Shifty McGifty and Slippery Sam stories written by Tracey Corderoy and illustrated by Steven Lenton. So I decided to use the stories as inspiration for my World Book Day bookmark and art print.
We’ve made our way through all the larger picture books aimed at 3-5 year olds and are now progressing through the 5-7 year olds books which my kids both love!
If you’ve never read a Shifty McGifty and Slippery Sam book then you best get to it. They’re about a doggy duo, Shifty and Sam, who started out being really bad robbers, and by BAD I mean, they just weren’t very good! But they find their true calling in baking cakes and jammy doughnuts and saving the day… what more could you want in a kid’s book?
When I realised that World Book Day was approaching these doughnut bookmarks were my first thought. Here you can see how the original bookmark was created!
The bookmarks that are for sale are 60mm x 160mm and printed onto 320gsm matt paper using HD inks and make the perfect gift for avid readers, fans of The Simpsons, fans of Shifty McGifty and Slippery Sam, or even just those fond of little rings of sugary goodness (doughnuts in case you hadn’t worked it out!).
