The Perfect Gift for Bookworms
As a self-confessed bookworm, I’m completely fed up of using old receipts or scraps of paper to mark my place so decided to make my own. This was the result…
Sundays are fast becoming my most creative day. I suppose it’s because on the weekend my husband has more availability to help out with the kids, and they themselves seem to play together better when they’re not interrupted with lessons. Whatever the reasons, Sundays are my fun days and it was during one such Sunday session that I created these one-of-a-kind, hand drawn bookmarks, the perfect gift for bookworms like myself!
As a self-confessed bookworm, I’m completely fed up of using old receipts or scraps of paper to mark my place so I decided to make my own. No pressure, no expectations, just creating something for myself because I could.
I cut down some 400gsm (seriously thick) beautifully textured cartridge paper into 6cm wide strips and started adding my zentangle doodles. There was no plan, no sketching of ideas, I just fell into my creative space and went for it, and this was the result… 6 completely unique, one-of-a kind, hand-drawn bookmarks.
I finished them off with some handmade tassels made using embroidery silks, sat back and thought “I’d buy one of these!”. The bookmarks are gorgeous and the perfect gift for bookworms and bibliophiles.
The beauty of running an Etsy shop is that when creativity strikes and I create something I am happy with I can just add it. So I did. Three of the six have now sold and I’m secretly hoping that the other ones hang around for a bit longer too as I’m eyeing them up for my own use…
If you’re interested in buying one these gorgeous bookmarks for yourself, or as a gift for the book lover in your life you can find them at the above link.
